One Puppy Dead & Three Rescued From Hot Car in Florida

On May 4, four Bernedoodle puppies were rescued from a hot car parked in a Disney Springs parking garage in Florida. A security guard discovered the pups and called the emergency personnel out of concern. Moreover, the rescuers adopted three of the four puppies. Unfortunately, one of the canines sustained injuries from being left behind in the car and had to be put down.

Three Bernedoodle puppies rescued from hot car in Florida parking garage

A security personnel discovered four puppies inside a vehicle parked in a Disney Springs parking garage. The owner thought leaving the canines behind would be all right as the garage was covered. However, the car wasn’t ventilated enough. The vehicle was unairconditioned, and they had opened one of the windows a little, expecting that would be enough for the pups.

The Orange County Animal Services noted that the dog owner had left the Bernedoodles behind to have dinner with their family. Moreover, they were gone for about 90 minutes, which led to the puppies needing rescue from the hot car. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office also stated that the pups were newly bought from a breeder, per Fox 35.

On May 4, the temperatures in that area reached upwards of 86 degrees in the evening, per People. Also, a car parked outside can reach more than 100 degrees in only ten minutes. This explains why the puppies were distressed when the security guard found them. Furthermore, the puppy that had to be euthanized was unresponsive when they were rescued.

Fortunately, the rest of the puppies rescued from the hot car could recuperate well with some medical assistance. They have been adopted by firefighters from the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District’s Fire Department. This case highlights why one shouldn’t leave their pets in a vehicle. With summer here, keeping one’s furry friends safe is extremely important. Authorities highly recommend not leaving them behind in cars.
