A family is desperately searching for their beloved senior dog, Jasmine. Security footage shows a woman taking the canine away on May 10, allegedly stealing her. The family is trying hard to find the stolen senior dog, even posting flyers so the community can help locate her.
Raleigh family believes beloved senior dog was stolen from hotel room
On May 10, a senior dog was stolen from a family’s hotel room in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Jack Russell Terrier mix named Jasmine is almost 16 years old and slightly deaf, per WRAL. The canine was a senior rescue adopted by the family. Her human, Darryl Nordan, hopes she returns home safely, as they want her to enjoy her later years with the family.
The surveillance camera captured the canine wandering away from her family’s hotel room at the Days Inn on Glenwood Avenue. They lodged a police report as well, which classified the theft as larceny. Nordan hopes sharing his story will help the family find their stolen senior dog sooner.
While talking about her personality, Darryl noted that Jasmine is timid, which is also mentioned in the flyers. The canine managed to wander away from her family when they left the door open to unload some groceries from their car. Nordan explained, “I had my arms full and I didn’t see her, and she slipped right out the door.”
He has been making regular trips to the hotel to spot Jasmine and bring her back home one day hopefully. The staff members also cooperated with the family to help locate their canine companion soon, showing them the video in which a woman could be seen picking up Jasmine.
Nordan clarified that the family only wants their beloved pet home safely. They don’t hold a grudge against the woman who stole the senior dog. However, he used this opportunity to remind fellow pet parents that microchipping their furry friends is crucial. In cases such as these, it is easier for the authorities to unite them with their pets if they are microchipped.
