3,551 Bags of Barkworthies & Best Bully Dog Treats Recalled

On June 20, TDBBS LLC recalled thousands of Barkworthies and Best Bully Sticks dog treat bags. Potential metal contamination was cited as the cause of the product recall. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released its official notice the following day. It stated that the recall explicitly affects the Green Tripe dog treats.

Barkworthies and Best Bully Sticks products recalled, dog treats may contain foreign metal objects

On Friday, the FDA released a notice that TDBBS LLC is voluntarily recalling 3,551 bags of Green Tripe dog treats. The recall may contain foreign metal objects, affecting brands Barkworthies and Best Bully Sticks. The notice noted that thousands of bags were distributed to stores nationwide and sold online from February to May.

The products impacted by the recall are Barkworthies Green Tripe 7-ounce Bags, Best Bully Sticks Green Tripe 2-pound Bags, and Best Bully Sticks Green Tripe 5-pound Bags. However, the FDA clarified that the limited product recall impacts the particular lots mentioned in their notice.

Moreover, no reports of injury or illness have been registered as of yet. However, owners are advised to keep an eye out for any signs of illness or unusual behavior if their beloved pet has consumed the dog treats. Metal objects are a health hazard to dogs, so it is crucial to contact a vet promptly if there are any concerns.

Owners who have already purchased the product are advised to stop feeding the dog treats to their canine companions immediately. Moreover, TDBBS LLC can be contacted for any questions or to initiate a return. The company is also doing its best to remove the affected dog treats from distributors’ and retailers’ inventories.

In May, Pedigree issued a similar recall for their dog food, citing the potential presence of loose metal pieces as the cause. The brand recalled 315 44-pound Pedigree Adult Complete Nutrition Grilled Steak & Vegetable Flavor Dry Dog Food bags. However, the dog food was only recalled from the states where the lot was distributed.
