Earlier this year, a video of a foster mom caught the attention of Instagram users. The “foster dog enthusiast,” Whitney, shared on the platform that she found a replica of her previous dog while going through a shelter’s euthanasia list. The pup’s health was in poor condition and required medical attention. Whitney decided to get the furbaby treated and brought her home. She also shared the pup’s transformation journey. The foster mom recently announced the news of the replica dog’s adoption.
Foster saves dog on euthanasia list
Whitney (@whitneysdogs) took to Instagram in July 2024 and shared the story of Glinda, who reminded her of Luna, her “heart dog.” She wrote that dog Luna was the reason she started doing rescue. Whitney came across Glinda while scrolling through a shelter’s Euthanasia list. The former documented in a reel how she found the pup in real life and later decided about the adoption. As Glinda was initially nervous, Whitney patiently waited for the pup to approach her. Eventually, the two grew closer and became friends. Whitney continued to share that Glinda was sick and they were “going to get that taken care of.”
The mama dog was on the list “due to lack of space” and “medical issues in her mammary area.” Whitney noted that it was likely because of overbreeding. Glinda then underwent surgery to “remove multiple masses.” Following that, the pup recovered at Whitney’s home. The latter gushed about how the furbaby “tinkled” when she saw her. Furthermore, Glinda’s foster mom shared in the reel that she was “saved in honor of Luna.” At the time of writing, the video has garnered more than 700K views on Instagram.
Earlier this month, Whitney announced that Glinda had been adopted. The foster mom gushed about her dog’s replica as she shared her adoption journey. Glinda’s name was changed to Maple, and the dog found the “best home” with a Hearts & Bones Rescue alum. The post showed Maple’s transformation from “scared, unmoving shelter dog to home.”
