Puppy Shower: The Best Party Favors For Pups & People

If you’ve recently adopted a new puppy into your family, congratulations! A puppy shower is a great way to welcome your new pooch home and start their socialization training by exposing them to new people and pets.

Of course, every gathering is even better when attendees get to go home with party favors. And there are many options for both human and canine friends.

To keep the good mood going long after the party’s over, send the guests home with goodie bags that have dog-themed party favors. Here are some ideas for what to put inside!

Homemade Dog Treats

Baking your own dog treats may sound daunting for those who don’t spend much time in the kitchen. But it can be a lot simpler than you might think, and your guests will appreciate the personal touch.

Take a look at our list of homemade dog biscuit recipes here. One of the recipes only requires two ingredients. It doesn’t get easier than that!

And if you want to take some of the guesswork out of the process, you can buy a pre-made dog biscuit mix to bake. You can find a dog treat mix here!

Dog Toys

Your canine guests will be thrilled to get a bag with new toys to play with. They don’t even have to be complicated or expensive to hold pooch partiers’ interest, either. Sometimes even a tennis ball will do!

The toys can be as simple or extravagant as you like, but just make sure that they’re safe for pups. If you have larger dog guests, for example, then small toys might be a choking hazard. Think about what your pup guests will enjoy safely.

Cute Bandannas

It’s hard to make fashion choices for others, but luckily every pooch looks great in a bandanna! They’re also a good choice because they just go around dogs’ necks like their usual collars, rather than wrapping around other parts of their bodies like many dog clothing options do.

You can get a lot of plain bandannas so all the pups at the party can match. Prepare for some adorable photos!

Or you can be extra and get personalized bandannas with your dog’s name or the names of your guests. You can get personalized dog bandannas here!

Puppy Teethers

If you have a lot of puppy guests at your party, chances are good that they’ll start teething soon if they haven’t already. That means they’ll need something appropriate to chew on.

Teether toys can help with that and may also relieve some of the discomfort that teething pups feel. There are plenty of options available. Some teether toys are flavored, and some can even be refrigerated to sooth sore gums.

Personalized Wine Bottles

It’s important not to forget the human guests at your party. You’ll want to send them home with something too.

Wine is a great choice because, unlike some other gifts, your guests won’t have to figure out what to do with it or where to put it. It’s probably not going to sit on a shelf until someone finally decides to throw it out a year from now.

If you’re savvy with design and printing, you can make your own labels for wine bottles with a picture of your pooch and stick them on, yourself. But if you’d rather, you can also buy personalized wine bottles here!
