There’s nothing like having a cold one with your bud at the end of a long day. Now your canine companion can join you for happy hour with a beer specially brewed for his doggy palate. A brewery in Indianapolis called Flat 12 Bierwerks created a non-alcoholic beer for dogs.

Although, if you take a sip, it might not be what you expect. It’s made from meat bones and trimmings from the Smoking Goose, a meatery next door to the brewery, along with carrots, potatoes, and yeast, which gives it a soup broth-like flavor. There’s no alcohol and no carbonation, so it’s nice and safe for dogs to gulp down.

The Flat 12 Bierwerks team is made up of dog owners, and they’ve tested the brew on their own pups, first, as well as sampling it themselves. They plan to have their dog beer on tap and charge one dollar per bowl. All the proceeds go to local animal shelters, so it’s for a good cause. So raise a glass and take a swig with man’s best friend!
