The Viral Hugging Dogs Were Adopted By Two Best Friends

You may remember the story from earlier this year of two shelter dogs who were saved from being euthanized when a photo of the pups hugging each other went viral on the internet. Well the hugging hounds have found their forever home with two human best friends.

The photo featuring Kala, the 11-month-old Hound mix, and Kiera, the 15-month-old Boxer mix, embracing each other was posted by Angels Among Us Pet Rescue in July and was shared all over Facebook before being picked up by other sites and news organizations. The pups were saved by a helpful volunteer who fostered them at the last hour.

After three months, the hugging pooches have found their forever home with Wendy and Pam, a pair of best friends and roommates who are happy to have Kala and Kiera in their lives. The two new owners plan to start a Facebook page for the dogs to keep supporters updated on their progress. Now Kala and Kiera can get all the hugs they want without living in fear. I love happy endings.
