Hope For Paws RESCUE: Owner Got A New Dog And Didn’t Want The Old One Back

A good Samaritan noticed a homeless dog who kept coming to visit their dog. They worried about the sweet stray pooch, so they called rescuers Hope For Paws to help out. This little pup looked like he was missing an eye, but he could not be any cuter.

Anytime I watch a dog rescue video, it always breaks my heart, especially when it’s clear that the dog is lost or has been dumped. You can tell that dog doesn’t belong on the streets, and they usually appear a little nervous and out of place.

Surprisingly, this dog actually had a microchip. Even more surprising, the owner did not want him back because they already got a new dog. Sorry, but his previous owner sounds a little heartless.

A New Name And Some New Love

How cute is he?! OMG, I love him so much!

With some help from the good Samaritan’s friendly Pit Bull, the rescuers managed to catch the newly homeless pooch. They took him in and gave him a new name, Pirate. They promised to find Pirate a wonderful new home with a family that deserves him!

One Eye Lost, But A New Home Found

It turned out that Pirate did have an eye that was very badly injured and needed to be removed.

After surgery, he was taken in to a foster home to heal, and it didn’t take long for Pirate to find his fur-ever family.

Pirate loves playing fetch and tug of war. What a little cutie!

This rescue story fills me with a mixture of happiness and sadness. Happiness that this dog is getting a new home and sadness for his former owner’s “new dog.” What about when that new dog becomes the old dog? Will they abandon that pup, too? Some people just shouldn’t be allowed to have dogs if they won’t take care of them for life.

I’m so glad that Pirate has a new home already. That was very fast, thanks to Hope For Paws.

There are a lot of dogs just like Pirate in foster homes, in rescues, and in shelters waiting for a loving family to love them forever. Adopt, don’t shop.
