Our Story:
I already had two dogs, the maximum you can have without a kennel license in this town, so I wasn’t looking for a third dog. But when I saw little Apollo at the local Renaissance Faire, it was love at first sight as far as I was concerned. I was in a RenFaire costume so I spent Saturday trying to steer people towards the cute pup at the Animal Services Center booth. His foster mother, Linda, had him in a little red wagon and he lay there on the blanket, not in a cage, as if cooperating with her efforts to find him a forever home. He was so sweet and mellow that I knew I had to help him find a home.
Saturday night, I went home sad that nobody had adopted him. Then I realized that I had just enough room on my queen-sized bed for one more dog! I told my other two dogs “If nobody’s adopted him yet, I’m going to bring you a new brother!” I call Apollo my “hard luck pup” because he’d already survived parvo by the time I adopted him and then came down with distemper! But he survived both and is now a big strong dog. You’d never know he was sick if you didn’t see the damage the distemper did to his teeth. He also is blessed with the best personality! My little hardluck mutt has proven to be a real blessing and wonderful addition to the family.
