Muttville benefit to bring 2nd chance to senior dogs

Attention California Bay Area Animal Lovers and Party Animals:

Looking for something causey and cocktaily to do next Saturday night? Get tickets to Moolah for the Mutts, benefitting Muttville Senior Dog Rescue (one of my all-time favorite rescue organizations).

After years of devotion to their family, the sad reality is that senior dogs are commonly surrendered to shelters (or abandoned — or worse) as they head into their twilight years. With rescues overwhelmed and shelters filled to capacity, seniors are often denied the chance to grow old in a loving, secure environment.

Muttville’s mission is to “change the way the world thinks about and treats older dogs and to create better lives for them through rescue, foster, adoption and hospice.” Read more about Muttville here or listen to my radio interview with founder Sherri Franklin here.

A few details about Moolah for the Mutts below, all the details here.

When: Saturday evening, July 16, 2011

Where: Swedish American Hall (Market Street, San Francisco)

Why: Senior dogs deserve attention, care, and companionship

PS. Moved by Muttville stories? Non-locals can donate as well!
