February is here, and of course that means Valentine’s Day is on our minds! Even if you don’t have a date, your dog will be there for plenty of snuggles and slobbers. And I’m sure your pup wouldn’t mind some tasty doggy Valentine’s Day treats, too. Whether you go out or stay in, make sure you give your dog a big old hug and kiss. Take a look at the pooches in the pictures below who just want to be your Valentine. Happy Valentine’s Day! Aren’t they cute? We love our pups every day of the year, but this holiday is a great excuse to shower our dogs with some extra love. They deserve it!

The Case For Staying In With Your Dog This Valentine’s Day

If you’re going out with a date to celebrate, great! Make sure you have a pet sitter if you’re going to be out for a while, and have a wonderful time! Don’t read any further. If you are staying in, here’s some Valentine’s Day advice. Don’t feel lonely over what is mostly a Hallmark holiday. It’s one day a year. Then it’s gone. In my experience, this holiday isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, anyway. Restaurants hike the prices, they’re busy, and the service and food quality go down. Maybe that’s just what I’ve experienced, but I’ve experienced it enough to know that this is one day when I avoid restaurants. The price of flowers goes up, too, and delivery services are overwhelmed, so the flowers don’t look so good. Flowers are already expensive enough. Save your money. Save your envy. Stay in with your dog! Let’s be honest. Your dog is your one true love, anyway, and they don’t need fancy evenings out or flowers. They just want to spend time with you! Who better to spend Valentine’s Day with than a pup who loves you?

Tips To Have The Best Valentine’s Day Ever With Your Dog

If you’re staying at home with your pooch, here are a few ways to make the holiday more fun for both of you:
  • Make dinner in. Try making something your dog will like!
  • Take your dog for an extra long walk. They’ll appreciate the exercise and quality time with you.
  • Watch a movie with your dog. Maybe pick a movie where the dog is the hero.
  • Give your dog cuddles and belly rubs and behind-the-ear scratches.
  • Go to bed and get a great night of sleep with your pup!
