Do you remember Ralphie, the ‘demon dog’ from New York?
He’s finally been adopted for the fourth time, according to a Facebook post from the Niagra SPCA, the shelter he’s been staying at, CNN reports.
His new owner is Jason, who trains dogs for the Department of Energy in Tennessee. He’ll join Jason’s other canines, including a fellow French Bulldog, a German Shepherd, and a Dachshund.
A “Uniquely Qualified” Owner
At first, the shelter said that Ralphie should go to a home without any other dogs. But, thanks to some careful training, he’s now less reactive to other dogs. After his third adoption didn’t work out, he partook in a six-week boarding and training program.
Per the SPCA, Jason is “uniquely qualified” to care for Ralphie, as two of his dogs also had histories of biting before he took them in.
Jason will “provide him with structure, and give him an outlet for all that Frenchie energy,” the shelter wrote. “He dedicates his life to dogs and that’s what makes him a perfect match for Ralphie.”
He beat out over 700 applicants who all wanted to adopt Ralphie.
From ‘Demon Dog’ to Social Media Star
“We wish our tiny, reformed terror all the best and we look forward to hearing about all of his adventures,” the shelter said on Facebook. “Will agility be his jam, or maybe he’ll beat his new sibling, Cookie’s 5k time of 36:06??? Whatever his next adventure is, we know he’s set up for a successful future!
“Thank you to all who shared Ralphie’s story and to those who donated to help tame the dragon,” it finished.
You can keep up with Ralphie on his Instagram page. Jason has already shared some footage of Ralphie in his new home with his siblings, and it looks as if they’re having a great time together so far.
