Hamas Gunmen Shoot Israeli Family’s Dog, Set Home on Fire

An Israeli family’s dog was shot by Hamas gunmen during a horrific home invasion in the kibbutz of Be’eri. Then, soldiers allegedly raided the family’s fridge before setting the home on fire.

Family dog shot in brutal Hamas attack

According to the Daily Mail, there is footage of the shooting outside of the family’s home in a small farming community of about 1,000 people.

A GoPro camera attached to a Hamas fighter’s helmet captured how the gunmen “mowed down” the dog, who was trying to defend the home from the attack. Other cameras mounted on gates at the entrance to the kibbutz also filmed the atrocities.

The video of the Hamas gunmen shooting the dog originally appeared on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

Around 5:55 a.m. on Saturday, video shows two Hamas terrorists arrived at the gate. They wore camouflage clothing, body armor, and combat boots. They carried AK-47s. The pair are just two of the estimated 1,000 Hamas militants that crossed the border from Gaza to Israel. Militants took many Israeli civilians hostage and shot others. Hamas terrorized the Be’eri kibbutz for 17 hours.

“They walked around Be’eri like they owned the place,” former politician and resident Haim Jelin told Army Radio on Sunday.

“They shot indiscriminately, abducted whoever they could, burned down people’s homes so they’d have to escape through the window, where the terrorists would wait,” he continued.

Following a long hostage standoff and what Jelin called a “massacre,” Israeli forces discovered 108 bodies in the area.

On Wednesday, an Israeli military spokesman calculated the death toll from the Hamas attacks to be 1,200 people. The fighting wounded an additional 2,700 people.

While family dogs are not included in the death tolls, they are undeniably innocent victims of terrorist attacks and wars like the one in Israel. Sadly, these loyal pets are caught in the crossfire, often facing injury or even death. While dogs also play heroic roles in war, many others are casulties of human conflict. They add to the unimaginable devastation that results due to war.
