Life of XL Bully Saved Following Owner’s Death

Following the death of his owner, a man saved an American XL Bully puppy named Simba from the possibility of euthanasia. With the implementation of new laws, rescue centers can no longer find new homes for this breed. Fortunately, the benefactor intervened in time and saved the pup’s life.

Friend saves the XL Bully from being euthanized

A close acquaintance of the puppy’s deceased owner has stepped in to care for him, stating he couldn’t bear the thought of the dog facing euthanasia.

What’s more, according to BBC News, the animal rescue organization in Wolverhampton, Wings and Paws, is now helping the man with the expenses of registering 18-week-old Simba. Upon deciding to adopt the puppy, the new owner reached out to the charity for assistance.

“This incredibly kind man had been looking after Simba since mid-December while his friend was unwell and has made the huge commitment to keep him,” said a Wings and Paws volunteer. “As an animal lover himself, he couldn’t face the thought of him being put to sleep, as he can’t be rehomed now.”

In compliance with legislation implemented on New Year’s Eve, all owners of American Bully XL dogs must register their pets by January 31. To retain their XL Bullys, owners must obtain insurance, neuter their dogs, and pay a £92.40 fee for a Certificate of Exemption.

Wings and Paws stated that the pet owner came to them for assistance because of the unanticipated cost of securing an exemption for Simba given the quickly approaching deadline. The animal rescue has confirmed it will provide the needed assistance. As Simba is still a puppy, neutering isn’t immediately necessary. The pup, however, still requires insurance, a microchip, and an application for the exemption, along with its payment.

The charity stated it would share expenses with the pet owner while offering guidance through the registration process. Following the enforcement of new regulations, Wings and Paws revealed that it had already financially assisted seven XL Bully dog owners with registration costs. Moreover, they also provided administrative support to two other owners for registration.
