The video that circulated on the LA Times social media brought to our screens an unusual yet adorable sight: a tiny canine braving the drizzle, perched on the entrance steps of the award ceremony. Maya was dressed in a bright green raincoat that drew everyone’s attention, turning heads even amongst the flurry of glamorous Grammy attendees.

The LA Times humorously captioned the clip: “This dog in a raincoat watching soaking wet nominees is the unsung hero of the #GRAMMYs.” Evidently, many people agreed with this sentiment, given the responses to the video, including one from the popular WeRateDogs account.

Who brought a dog to the Grammys 2024?

Some people questioned why they would label a dog as a “hero.” However, it turns out, Maya was far more than just a spectacle in a bright raincoat. She is a working dog, an Explosive Detection Canine, tasked with maintaining safety at the grand event. Furthermore, the LA Times revealed that Maya carried a business card displaying her designation, rendering her more than deserving of the “hero” status.

Many followers added that the tiny pooch, donning her radiant green coat, was their favorite non-musical part of the Grammys. Despite the intense anticipation, viewers couldn’t help but imagine the pup’s perspective — a canine amongst a crowd of celebrities. No wonder many of them couldn’t resist imagining themselves stopping to give this adorable hero all the cuddles and treats she deserved. Of course, the dedicated Maya had her focus set on her duties, leaving the doting to her admirers on the other side of the screen.
