On April 12, a puppy was stolen from the parking lot of a Shari’s Cafe & Pies location in Portland, Oregon. The Miniature Rat Terrier was abducted from Brandon Byers’ car while he was buying a pie in the restaurant. Along with the pup, Byers’ laptop was also missing from the car, which he believes the thief was first interested in stealing.

Brandon Byers had his puppy stolen from his parked car on Friday, April 12. The Miniature Rat Terrier was abducted from the car at around 3 p.m. The family is frantically searching for their pup, who is quite young and needs to be cared for properly.
Byers noted that he had carefully placed his puppy, Slayer, in his carrier to ensure he didn’t wreak havoc in the car. However, he returned to an empty car 10 minutes later. Moreover, Brandon Byers reported that his car window was also tampered with, as it was slightly cracked.
The 20-week-old puppy is a Miniature Rat Terrier and was on his shots when he was stolen. Slayer has already missed two of his shots. His family is also worried he is not getting the care he needs.
Brandon Byers stated that after searching for the stolen puppy for almost two weeks, the family decided to contact the media. They are hoping this could help them find their beloved dog sooner.
Byers told Fox 12, “I’m not leaving my dog behind like that, when I met him he and I actually really needed each other at that time, he was a runt, kind of left behind, and when I met him, we just bonded instantly.”
He believes Slayer tried to protect the laptop when the thief was trying to steal it. This might have led to the pup’s current predicament. Byers noted that although the family has tried every possible means, they aren’t ready to give up hope on finding their pet yet. Moreover, they are willing to offer a reward of $640 to anyone who can help them find their pup.
