Whether it be people or animals, the recent flooding has left many affected in Brazil. Michel Pereira has been doing his part by participating in the rescue efforts in Rio Grande do Sul. He has also started a crowdfunding campaign to help the individuals affected by the severe flooding, per MMA Fighting.

Prior to his rescue efforts, Pereira had just won a spot in the UFC middleweight rankings. However, soon after, he turned all his attention to the Brazil floods, especially the devastation in Rio Grande do Sul. The death toll has reached 155, as reported by The Guardian.

In addition to rescuing dogs, Michel Pereira has been volunteering on the frontlines to help with evacuations and recovery efforts. He has been sharing videos on his Instagram account almost daily to help raise funds for the victims of the Brazil floods. Nearly half a million people have been displaced by the natural disaster.

Several people have been coming forward to help the animals affected by the floods. When disaster strikes, animals tend to be the first ones to be forgotten and the worst affected by the same. Thus, many kind samaritans have been going above and beyond to help strays and abandoned pets in need.

Many volunteers have come together to build a makeshift shelter in Canoas, Brazil. They have been taking in dogs affected by the severe flooding, with about 20 to 30 being brought in every hour. The makeshift shelter cares for them until they can reunite with their owners, sending any canine in need of medical assistance to a local vet.
