California Puppy Recovers From Burns in Oregon Rescue

A few weeks earlier, a puppy with severe burns was found and rescued in Fresno, California. The 3-month-old pup was later transferred to Silverton, Oregon, where he is on the way to recovery in a dog rescue.

Earlier this month, a severely burned puppy was discovered in California. Hector Adrian first found the canine on his way back home from work. The pup was whining and scratching himself, and Adrian noticed he was bleeding.

Considering the puppy’s terrible condition, the passerby took him to an animal shelter where he could recover from his injury. Unfortunately, Hector Adrian couldn’t adopt him even if he wanted to. According to Fox 12, his rental unit doesn’t permit animals, so he couldn’t have given the pup the love and care he needs.

After seeing his photos on Facebook, a kind Samaritan requested the puppy to be shipped to Oregon. The pup was named Phoenix and diagnosed with fourth-degree burns. He is currently under the care of Alpine Animal Hospital and on the road to recovery. Dr. Serena Mills noted that the puppy’s belly and paws were burned and that he had been rescued just in time.

The canine’s bandages need to be changed thrice a week. Moreover, his care and pain medicines cost about $700 a week because he needs to be sedated during bandage changes. However, his doctor stated that the tissue is developing well, and his injuries are slowly healing. Phoenix will also develop calluses to protect his severely burned paws.

His caregivers noted that Phoenix is a sweet pup who obediently waits in his playpen for his turn to be let out. As his injuries are still recovering, the canine has to wear boots when he is out and about. While he is still getting used to them, he is usually in good spirits.
