Abandoned Doberman Puppy Finds New Forever Home in UK

A Doberman Pinscher puppy abandoned earlier this year has found his forever home. Dobbie, the Doberman, was discovered by a runner on March 6 when the pup was cowering near some bushes in Derbyshire village. Now, a couple has taken Dobbie into their home after the poor canine’s lengthy recovery.

When a resident was out for a run on March 6, they spotted Dobbie among the bushes, cowering in fear. The Doberman Pinscher was about ten months old then, and the kind samaritan rescued him and took him to the vet. After a thorough check-up, the vet scanned the abandoned Doberman puppy for a microchip. While the pup was microchipped, there was no registered information to go by, per BBC.

After recuperating from the injuries and trauma of being abandoned, Dobbie has finally been adopted. RSPCA Chesterfield branch’s Steph McCawley exclaimed that he is a different pup now. The Doberman has a lovely personality, and it was hard not to love him.

McCawley told BBC, “The difference between how he was when he was first rescued to now is astounding.” Vets were uncertain if Dobbie could make it because of how poorly he was doing when the runner first brought him in. Moreover, his tail had to be amputated, and he had to take regular medicines. However, the abandoned Doberman puppy made a miraculous recovery.

Dobbie was lucky to be spotted by the runner in March. Nobody knows how long the pup had been abandoned, and he most likely wouldn’t have made it if he hadn’t received prompt medical assistance. Josie and Scott Overton have adopted the abandoned Doberman puppy. Dobbie will live with them in their Chesterfield home.

McCawley noted that Dobbie’s story shows that abused animals can have happy endings. While they were neglected in the past, a warm, loving home is all they need to let their unique personalities shine through.
