Large Dog Rescued From Bottom of Sewer in California

Earlier in June, a California woman discovered a large dog at the bottom of a sewer and helped rescue him. It was lucky she found the canine, as he was completely hidden from the neighborhood residents. Moreover, nobody could have heard him, even if he cried for help. Fortunately, the pup was safely rescued and is on the road to recovery. However, he would need training and therapy before he can be put up for adoption.

Large dog found in sewer rescued and on the road to recovery

A large dog was rescued from the bottom of a sewer in a residential area of California earlier this month. Sabrina Garcia came across the pup while looking for a place to release a mouse she found in her home. However, she was in for a surprise as she noticed a giant canine in the sewer, per The Dodo.

Garcia promptly called Logan’s Legacy 29 to help save the dog, who was lying helpless at the bottom of the sewer, as there was no way for him to escape. The rescuers suspect the canine was forced into his predicament by someone. The opening they found was too small to fit the large dog rescued from the sewer.

The pup was lifted out through an opening, and Logan’s Legacy 29 shared the rescue mission on Facebook. His rescuers named him Donatello and took him to a nearby pet hospital. However, after several medical exams, it was discovered that the large dog had consumed a variety of trash, including a towel. He had to have emergency surgery for the same.

Now, the canine has an extensive treatment plan, including therapy and training. After the ordeal, Donatello developed anxiety and became extremely wary of other dogs. The pup has one last surgery left to help with his inverted eyelids. However, he won’t be up for adoption until the rescue has worked on his dog aggression.
