On July 3, a dog was found with zip ties around his mouth and neck in Malibu, California. What’s worse, his mouth was zip-tied shut, and the canine was visibly distressed. Fortunately, two hikers found him in time and promptly called for help from the authorities. The pup is now in safe hands and receiving the love and care he needs. An investigation has been launched, with animal activists donating enough to triple the reward for finding the suspects.
Hikers find German Shepherd Dog with mouth zip-tied shut in Malibu Canyon Creek
Last Wednesday, two hikers found an abandoned German Shepherd Dog in Malibu Canyon Creek, California. The canine is seven years old and has now been named Argon by the officials, per USA Today. Unfortunately, when the rock climbers found the dog, his mouth was zip-tied shut, with more of them around his neck.
While they called the authorities right after finding Argon, they removed the zip ties around his muzzle once they had gained his trust. The Good Samaritans also petted him to calm him down and provided him with some food. The Malibu Search and Rescue responded to the call and noted the canine was stuck in a ravine. After removing the remaining zip ties, the German Shepherd was transported to Agoura Hills Animal Shelter.
Argon received further medical treatment from the Palmdale Animal Care Center. Unfortunately, he was exposed to poison oak and is suffering from some inflammation. Vets also noticed some skin tags and warts around his groin and stomach. The dog with zip ties around his mouth and neck might be suffering from lymphoma, so he is currently undergoing medical examinations. He isn’t yet available for adoption as he is still under evaluation.
According to KTLA, the reward offered to help find the suspects has more than tripled as of Tuesday. In Defense of Animals initially offered $2,500, but with Peace 4 Animals and others’ kind donations, the reward now stands at $7,600.
