Authorities request for tips as man dumps fourth dog over Atlantic City shelter’s fence
On Monday, a repeat offender dumped his fourth dog over a shelter fence in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The man was caught on camera throwing the canine over the Humane Society of Atlantic County’s fence. The incident occurred in the middle of the night, as he had done with the previous pups he had dumped at the same animal shelter.
The Humane Society of Atlantic County shared the disturbing act on Facebook. The video captures the man walking across the shelter’s front section to reach the fence. He then unleashes the dog and swiftly throws her over it.
Steven Dash, the shelter’s executive director, told Fox 29 that the man dumping all four dogs is all the more upsetting when one realizes the fence is easy to jump over. Although the fence is four feet high, there are flower gardens that the canines can step onto. This makes it a mere two-foot jump to reach the highway.
Moreover, the Pit Bull has scars on her back that make the staff believe she might have been through trauma. Dash noted that this was a cause for worry if children were in the household, as they might be going through the same. A humane law enforcement officer is investigating the case. The public is encouraged to provide any tips they might have to help with it.
