Missing Dog Reunites With Family After 6 Years in Florida

Over the weekend, a dog that went missing six years ago was reunited with her family in Florida. They were staying in Ohio when the pup went missing. Fortunately, some Good Samaritans found her and brought her to the dog kennel. Thanks to the owners updating their information on her microchip, the authorities were able to reunite the canine with her humans.

Dog went missing while family was staying in Ohio, reunites with them in Florida

This weekend, Lucy Marie, the missing dog, finally reunited with her family after getting lost about six years ago. According to Fox 8 News, she was first brought to the Lorain County Dog Kennel in Ohio. After scanning her microchip, the employees noticed she belonged to someone who resided in Florida. After a quick call, it was revealed the pup went missing when the family was still living in Lorain, Ohio.

The dog owner’s sister went to Ohio over the weekend to pick her up and bring her back home to her human. The pet parent never gave up hope because they kept her microchip updated, making this heartwarming reunion possible. However, it remains a mystery where the missing dog had been before being brought into the Lorain County Dog Kennel.

In a similar case, a canine had been missing for nine years before she got to meet her family again. The Chihuahua mix named Gizmo went missing from her Nevada home in 2015. Gizmo had escaped the backyard through the side gate. A passerby picked them up and insisted on getting them scanned for a microchip instead of returning the canine to the owner’s neighbor.

Thanks to the microchip, the missing dog could reunite with their family. The dog owner received an email from a pet microchip company telling them their lost dog had been found. While Gizmo requires medical treatment, the canine will be getting all the love and care they missed out on in the years they were away from home.
