A heartwarming rescue and transformation of an abused German Shepherd is winning viewers’ hearts all over the globe. Recently, TikTok user Amber (@amberldavis) rescued Roman, a dog whose condition was so severe that his skin was almost falling off of his bones.
Amber mentions that the dog’s owner had been refusing to surrender him despite visibly abusing and neglecting his condition for a year. He was reportedly offered help by other people but refused to take it. Finally, law enforcement agencies intervened and were able to save the dog from acute danger.
German Shepherd nearing his end undergoes heartwarming transformation
In her video, Amber mentions that the dog was scared when officers found him. Fleas had started to eat him off, and he was underweight, with visible ribs. His rotten skin had started to stink, and it seemed like he was not far from death. Moreover, the dog contracted an infection in both his eyes and ears. His condition made it difficult for him to make sense of his surroundings.
Even though people had repeatedly failed him in the past, the dog craved human touch and love. Amber vowed to nurse the pup back to health, and she brought him home. She lovingly named him Roman. She took him to the vet, and they prescribed several medications and ointments.
As Amber continues to share Roman’s healing journey, she shows us that only after a week at his new home has Roman’s hair started to grow back. Although he is not very playful, Roman is a big eater.
On her TikTok account, Amber mentioned that she lost her beloved family dog not too long ago. Both Roman and Amber have found each other when they needed a companion the most. In a video, Amber shows viewers how enthusiastic Roman is about car rides, contrary to when she first got him.
Roman has not recovered completely and has a long way to go. His oral health, heart conditions, and swollen hock are among the many problems he still faces. Yet, Amber refuses to give up on him. With her constant love and care, Roman will eventually gain his strength and become a healthy pup.
